Didn't You take part in the two last World Rogaining Championships in Australia and Estonia? Have You been sorry about not-being fried in furnace of arid bush or have You been missing all-day squelching in cooling bogs and swamps? Maybe You will get chance to enjoy both experiences at least partly in the course of one race. During Czech-German Rogaining Championships in the 27th and 28th June 2009 likewise in Australia You will meet dry stream beds and impressive rock features:
Alike in Estonia also in Ore Mountains You can find nice swamps and peat bogs:
They are surrounded by thick brakes of Carpathian pine:
Besides marvelous natural landscape the race area can show You also remarkable artificial features. E.g. railway viaduct built in 1884, which was together with railway Dubi – Moldava declared as a National technical landmark:
Another unique technical feature – Flaje dam. When it is foggy, it's shore can melt with sky. When backwater is low You can walk along the old very poor bridge which is normally submerged:
The Lord has always had tough times in our region. In December 1617 was on command of the catholic bishop Lohelius demolished his Protestant church in Hrob. This incident was an immediate cause of Czech aristocratics insurrection and started the 30-year war. After the 2nd world war almost all believers were transferred to Germany and were replaced by crowds of heathens. Aftewards some sacral buildings had to undergo transfer as well. Gothic dominant of the ancient town Most had to move few hundreds meters away and free place to a coal open-mine. Also wooden church in Flaje had to move, as it remained the only non-flooded building of the village. It was dismantled and then reassembled in neighbour Cesky Jiretin. Only stone foundations has been preserved there:
Finally You can see an example how the organizing team takes care about comfort of participants. Against extreme heat we have installed a special powerful air conditioning system:
